At a meeting of the Litcham Parish Council on the 18th of September the Council raised the following concerns regarding the proposed building of a single story building at the rear of 'Cedarville', Front Street Litcham : -
1) The Council is concerned that the 'infilling' of back gardens with small residences such as the one proposed will lead to a rather 'crowded' effect, and thus detrimentally affect the general environment of the 'Conservation Area' in which this development lies.
2) There is also concern that once access had been granted to the rear of Cedarville from Manor Drive it might encourage further development in adjoining gardens, that could use the same access point.
Although the Council has no strong objection to this application it is worried that it represents the 'Thin and of the wedge'. Even if these new buildings blend with the surrounding structures, taken further such development could produce a feel of 'over-crowding' within the village.
